This is what the Wave Over Me collection is about: artwork that doesn’t just depict the shoreline — it carries a piece of it.
“Beyond the Shoreline” layers deep teal, soft seafoam, and pale aqua into textured horizontal bands that read like water seen from above or waves stacked on the horizon. The surface is heavily built up, sculptural in places, with ridges and texture that catch light and shift depending on the angle. And worked into that surface is real sand collected from New Buffalo Beach — the same stretch of Lake Michigan shoreline just blocks from the gallery.
It’s a small piece at 24 x 13″, vertical in orientation, but the texture gives it weight beyond its size. The palette stays cool throughout — no warm sunset tones here, just the blue-green range of lake water on an overcast day. There’s something quiet about it. Meditative. The kind of piece you look at when you need to slow down.
