The New Buffalo Glow series comes from my deep connection to New Buffalo, Michigan. I’ve been coming here since I was old enough to drive, and the sunsets I’ve photographed and watched over the years — long before I ever started painting — are the inspiration behind this collection. Now, having my own gallery just up the street from the public beach feels unbelievably amazing. The “glow” in the name refers to the shimmering quality I achieve through specific paints and brushstrokes — techniques that make each piece shift and come alive depending on the angle and lighting in the room. This series has played a big part in my art path, and I’m always ready to start the next one.
