The scene is pure Lake Michigan: a golden sun sinking toward the water, light spilling across teal and turquoise bands, the whole composition glowing with that end-of-day warmth that draws people to the beach every evening.
The circular format works naturally with the sunset — the sun sits at the center, radiating outward the way real light does. Horizontal bands of color suggest water and sky without getting too literal, keeping the piece abstract enough to work as art while staying grounded in something recognizable. Black clock hands sweep across the surface, marking time against the painted light.
