Description

This is water that’s going somewhere.

“Heading In” builds momentum across 30 x 40″ of canvas — horizontal strokes of emerald green, deep teal, mint, and white dragged across the surface like waves pushing toward shore. The texture is aggressive, built up thick with palette knife work and layered brushstrokes that create actual ridges and valleys. You can see the physicality in every mark.

The palette stays in the green-teal range, capturing the way Lake Michigan looks when the wind picks up and the water stops being polite. Dark depths give way to bright shallows, foam breaks through in thick white passages, and the whole thing moves from left to right with relentless energy. This isn’t calm water. This is water with intention.

The horizontal format reinforces the forward motion — waves stacking, building, heading in. It’s abstract enough to work as pure color and texture, representational enough to feel like something real.

Original acrylic on stretched canvas. 30 x 40″. One of a kind.
